FAQs

Do I have to show any ID?

No. No form of identification is required. The only information you need to provide is your first and last name, address, number of people in your family, and ages of family members.

Do I get to choose what food I receive?

Yes and No. Because of time and logistical constraints a pre-packaged box of food will be placed in your vehicle. Although the exact contents change there are usually canned vegetables and fruits, soups, chili, tuna/canned chicken, peanut butter, canned and dry beans, rice, pasta, and cold cereal.

In addition to the box of food there is usually a "choice table" set up in the parking lot filled with miscellaneous products and fresh produce. Clients are welcome to exit their vehicles and take whatever they need from the choice table.

Where does the food come from?

The food bank receives the bulk of its food for distribution through the Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council. The food comes from the US Department of Agriculture's TEFAP program and two charitable organizations: Northwest Harvest and Second Harvest. We also receive donations from local food drives and individuals.
